flower pot quilt

In 2002 I was spending most of my time in waiting rooms of various clinics and hospitals. My husband was sick. I always had a bag of hand work with me. Hexagons sometimes. And other times these baskets. He lost his battle with throat cancer at the end of june of that year. I finished the tops and put them away.

A couple of years ago I pulled the baskets back out and hand quilted it. I am going to tackle the hexagons (Grandmother's Flower Garden) this fall. I am waiting for my sister to get back here from Ft. Sill so she can help me pin it,LOL! Her hubby is army and they have just been transferred back to Ft. Bragg.

I am still trying to learn to insert the picture properly. I'll try on the side this time.Antway here is my Flower Pot Quilt. I got the pattern from a magazine but it was before I kept up with such things as whose pattern it was! I gave the quilt to my daughter.

Hi, Leta - Thank you so much for visiting my blog and welcome to blogging. I will soon have my first year in and have enjoyed it so much. I love the basket quilt - it is gorgeous and I know it is bittersweet for you having worked on it during your husband's illness. I know how hard it is to go through. Enjoy this blogging!!

Ft.Bragg must mean you are in NC. We lived in Raleigh for 10 yrs. I still miss it. We had an (unofficial) son stationed at Bragg for quite a few years.
